Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is planning a new tolled, limited access highway linking Polk County to Osceola County to provide relief from congestion on US 27. Much of the proposed route is in the area near Lake Wales, Davenport, Haines City, Lake Hamilton, and Dundee. As of April 2025, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise has narrowed the location for the new highway between two routes. While a final route has yet to be selected, both routes could significantly impact property owners in and around Polk County.
